I've noticed quite a few large corporations laying off employees with numbers totaling in the thousands.  If you happen to be one of those unfortunate folks who was handed a pink slip recently, you are no doubt updating your resume in the hope of landing your next job.  Sadly, though, with the current state of the economy, getting that next job won't come easily or quickly.

Thought I was going to suggest something like "lose 20 pounds" or "exercise more," didn't you?  And while there's nothing wrong with either of those, most people who make resolutions like that give up by Valentine's Day (admit it; you fall into that group ).
